Stuart Dischnell's new collection of poems,
Dig Safe, takes as its metaphor the brightly colored markings construction workers spray paint on roadways and sidewalks to warn of the necessary but potentially hazardous utilities below street level. Erotic, social, elegiac, sometimes humorous and fantastical, Dischell's poems pierce the body politic as they evoke themes of interconnection and misalliance, geography and ancestry, movement and inhabitiation.
