Drop by the store
Trading your books with us is easy. Just bring your books by the store Monday through Saturday between 10am & 6pm. We ask that you bring no more than about 2 grocery bags per visit to ensure that we have enough time and space to accommodate all customers trading books with us.
What we offer in trade
We accept books that we feel we can resell and this is largely dependent on market value, condition, current stock levels and desirability.
- Paperbacks: 25% in store credit of the cover price
- Hardcovers: 50% in store credit of what we plan to resell them for (We do not take many hardcovers)
- Audiobooks: 50% in store credit of what we plan to resell them for (We prefer cd)
Some softcover books will be treated differently since we tend to sell them below half price (For Dummies, Idiot's Guide books, etc.). These book will be treated like hardcovers in our store credit policy. We keep track of your credit in the store so that you no longer have to carry a card with you.
Redeeming your store credit
Becasue we are doubling the amount of store credit we give you we can no longer allow credit to be used towards 100% of the purchase. Instead you may use store credit towards half of your purchase (Webkinz and Gift cards excluded).
Example:If you purchase a book with our price of $3.99 then you may use $2.00 in store credit and pay for the remaining $1.99 with cash check or charge.
What we don't accept
With our stock continually changing it is impossible to say exactly what we will accept at any given time. But there are a few items we do not take. Those are:
- Damaged books
- Most hardcover fiction (new releases can be an exception)
- Family Bibles
- Textbooks
- Encyclopedia sets
- Adult series romances (Harlequin,etc)
- Some book club editions
- Magazines
- Original software users manuals
- Music and movies
